Bordatella nasal spray vaccine? Lulu is due for this IF I chose to give it. My vet is great & does not pressure me into anything. She went over the vaccine & all and left it up to me if I chose to give her this or not. It will be the nasal according to my vet. I am not sure if I should give Lulu this or not. Lulu is around other dogs, goes to the groomer, & goes to the ballpark (where other dogs are as well). What is the general concesus from YT'ers? Lulu is 1 (April 13th) and weighs 3lbs 8oz. She is overall healthy & never had a reaction to any prior vaccines. |
I chose not to get this vaccine for ZoE. She doesn't go to a groomer or ever get boarded and is rarely around other dogs. My vet said if I she was ever to be boarded, she could get the vaccine a week before. |
Does your groomer require you to have it? Most place require that you be UTD on all vaccines. |
My babies get the Bordetella Vaccine...cause they go to the groomers...most groomers require it, I'm surprised your groomer doesn't...Kennel cough is awful...and takes awhile for recovery from what I understand...and I also heard lot of dogs that get the Bordetella nasal spray have bad reactions to it...I would do some research on it and talk with your Vet. |

I would do it, Minnie is up to get the bortedella vaccine in August but this time she will not get it done nasally. She will get the injection since the first time didn't go well. |

She had questionable tracheal irritation. Idk if it was from the nasal or if it was because of the collar she had on. We no longer use collars but in August she will get the vaccine injection. Quote:

All of mine get the injection one. They all go to groomer as well and it is required. |
I gave the intranasal bordatella regularly until recently when I stopped the vaccine. We don't currently need it. I would not use the injection. |
We don't do bordatella, but if we did I think it would be intranasal. From what I gather, Ellie's vet would be much less surprised to see a reaction from the injectable (in other words, she sees less reactions with the intranasal). I think that's the only one Ellie's vet office offers. |
Thank you all for your input! I really appreciate each one of you taking the time to respond. I believe I will talk to our vet & then decide from there. However, I am leaning to go ahead with the intranasal bordatella. |
