I bought a bag of Natural Balance Duck and Potato and mixed in it with Foxy's Royal Canin yesterday. It is the small bites, she picked out the NB and left the Royal Canin..lol.. |

They are really pushing Doctor's Finest "Great Life" at the store. Have any of you checked it out yet? http://www.doctorsfinest.com/ It looks good but I can't find many reviews yet. Like Halo it has no "meals" in it. Uses fresh meats. |
I was feeding Bella Halo. She started having some itchy episodes so I took her to the vet (she had chewed herself bald almost in one spot ) and they suggested I switch her food. So 2 weeks ago we switched to Natural Balance LID. I mix the NB wet (Duck and Potato) with the dry. Fingers crossed! So far, so good! My girl also tires quickly it seems to a certain flavor of food. I start freaking out if she wants to skip a meal! It's all so confusing to me because I don't want to start adding different flavors or switching because I'm afraid she will start itching again. Then how will I be sure what made her itch?! lol Good luck! :) |
I use Solid Gold Just a Wee Bit -- the kibble is tiny -- smaller than say a piece of Reece's Puff cereal. It is an All Life Stage Food which helped me a great deal with 3 dogs in different lif stages and it is good premium brand. If your dog is eating food without chewing, you might not want the smaller kibble size. They do need to crunch their food -- it helps to clean the tartar from their teeth. Even though mine could swallow the Solid Gold Just a Wee Bit whole, I do hear them crunching when they are in at the food bowl. But I never have to worry about them choking with the tiny kibble. |
Teddie is on half Halo (puppy stew salmon), and half wellness. He's not too fond of the wellness, will eat the halo and leave the wellness for last...little turkey butt!!:p No issues here on either food though, and he's definitely full of energy and sans issues. |
