Comfortis! Is your YT under the weight limit for it and do you half the pill? Frontline Plus is not effective and truly find it a pain to apply on Minnie. YT have such a beautiful coat and it is next to impossible to keep the topical treatment out of her hair. |
Hi I don't have an answer to that lol , But I do use the frontline it works here |
I just gave a pill to my 5.3 lb Tuesday..I never used anythign for flea before. I haven't given it to my 4.5lb, not sure there is need...fingers crossed i won't have to. 20 yr of having Yorkies and NEVER had to use a flea med until now??? What gives? |
Sophie Kate is 8 lbs and she get a full pill, 140 mg for 5 - 10 dogs. I looked at the instructions on the box and it says you can not overdose a dog however if given to large of an amount it can cause vomiting. I would ask your Vet or contact Lilly (the maker of Comfortis). |
Opps sorry it should say 5 -10 Lbs dogs |

I LOVE Comfortis, and use it for all 5 of my dogs, but the smallest is 5.5 lbs., which is within the smallest dose category. I personally would not give it to a dog under 5 lbs. without reassurance of a vet. |
Comfortis question I was thinking of switching Sprocket to Comfortis just to change out but his weight fluxes between 10-12 lbs, the vet wants to up the weight limit to the med sized dog, over 10lbs, but Sprocket doesn't always weigh that, we have always used a topical before and had good results, I just thought it might be a good thing to change it out. And So Cal is all ways the time of year for fleas and ticks , any thoughts???? Thanks. |

It works so well for mine, that I don't even have to use it monthly; I can go longer, so I just wait til I see fleas again and sometimes that has been 3 months out. Depends on their exposure and if they get started in your house or yard. |
Rio and Bullet are both 3.5 lbs so we use Sentinel once a month and Capstar if they ever get actual fleas to kill the adult fleas. That's only happened twice - once from the dog park and once while waiting to be picked up from the groomer . |
