Really stinky gas and poop
 

I am new to this forum........but I love it!!! I have a 5 1/ 2 month old yorkie named jackson. He is so full of energy and love, he keeps me laughing!! However, he has the worst smelling gas and poop. :eek: I am currently feeding him dry puppy food from the pet store...........does anyone have any suggestions on better food????

I would appreciate any help!! :)

I am nor sure which brand of food he is on.........I will find out. No, he is not feed any table scraps--ever! He is a great eater, he has never had any problems--I didnt have to use the Nutri-Stat when he was teeny-timy. The only problem is when he passes gas, he clears the room! It is so bad!

I found this and I hope it helps. I've never heard of that food, but I did find what ingredients are listed on it and I'm wondering if it's too much grain in the food.

Once you have experienced the passage of gas by your
dog, you will have no problem diagnosing it.

The cause can vary from:

A fast change of food

Feeding a food with too many carbohydrates

There are a number of good foods out there that you could try. If you decide to change, do it gradually by mixing it so it won't make him sick.

Some foods are: Chicken Soup for the puppy (or dog) lover's soul; Natural Choice (right guys???); Innova; Nutro. There are others, but I'm having trouble remembering the names right now. Perhaps some other members can help me out.
