Yoda Has a Bad Rash! Dunno why, but he started itching like crazy today. We took him to get a haircut, and he's back and still itchy! :( Just his face, he's scratched it so much it's completely red all around the area between his eyes. Anyone experience this before? Nothing new in the house, diet has been consistently the same, nothing I could think of could have caused it... Poor little booger! |

I would ask the groomer what shampoo or rinse she used. He could be sensitive to that. You might want to rinse/wipe his little face with a cool washcloth to get any residue off.......Hope he's better soon! |
Well, Yoda seems to be MUCH BETTER today! YAY! Must have been some weird food or shampoo or something. Although his face area is still a little red, glad to see he's not iching like mad today! Whew! We were pretty close to bringing him into the vet too, overreactive parents that we are! |
Bear does the same thing all the time. Some of the things that cause bear to itch is unmedicated shampoo since he is old, Bone, and some treats that have dye in them. And in your case I think Its the shampoo. |
Yup, weird shampoo, next time we must bring our own to the salon or something! :) |
Glad to hear Yoda's rash is better!! :) They are so sad when they itch ... can't understand [because they aren't used to it] and they can't tell you!! Toto scratched a sore on her side but the antihistimine, rinse, etc. seem to be clearing her problem up!! :) She has begun to sit in front of the patio door in the sun and we noticed that her little body gets hot as a firecracker when she does this?? The morning sun is really bright and she loves watching the birds & squirrels in the yard but I wonder if she will sunburn?? advice .... anyone?? ;) |
I don't know about sunburn, but when Yoda gets too hot from laying outside in the sun and patio, he'll come inside to cool off and get a sip of water. But yeah, his little body is hot as heck! |
