How to stop my Yorkie to poo at night? She does not do any mess downstairs and goes out to empty. But I had to fix a gate to the stairway, but my bigger dog knows how to open it and the moment she manages to sneak upstairs at night, I find "evidence" all over the landing. I have no idea how to deal with it. I have to mention that I go to bed very late (around 2am) and I am up at 7am. So all the "crime" occurs during those 5 hours. |
Dogs are usually regular in the times they go. Changing the time of her last meal will change the time she has to go |
I agree. Try to feed her a little earlier in the evening and pick up her bowl. Then take her for a walk or play with her until she goes potty. Take her out again just before bedtime. This worked for us :). |
I'm not sure just why, other than the motion, but... The walk/jog seems to work even if it's not exactly time for them to poop. Wow, after only getting 5 hrs sleep, I'm not sure if I'd take my advice. |
I have to add in here...yes changing feeding time works, and exercise...spiteful pottying happens-I've experienced it when a dog has forced themselves to go...make sure you adjust food and exercise times first and if it still isn't working consider a kennel or play yard...play pen...AKC potty patch is pretty cool too! https://www.pottypatch.com/default.a...=&refcode=1002 |
