Need some advice please we have a 6 mo. old yorkie girl, who is a late bloomer, when we had her spayed at 5 mo, she still had all her baby teeth, now it looks like she is getting her adult teeth, but will not let me look in her mouth. She also has bad breath, dont know if its from teething or from the food she eats, our other yorkie does not have bad breath. When I do look in her mouth, it looks like there is double ones on the bottom, will these come out on their own? I know yorkies are know for their baby teeth not falling out, could this be a reason for the bad breath? dont know what to do? |
Yes, this is most likely the cause of the bad breath. You should see you vet about having the baby teeth removed as they can cause problems for the adult teeth. |
Yes Taycie started to get really bad breath when her puppy teeth were coming in. Once they were pulled the smell went away instantly! |
It could very well be the baby teeth, food getting trapped between the two rows. This is why many vets recommend that Yorkies/small dogs wait until their 8 months to a year old to be neutered/spayed so this kind of maintenance can be done at the same time. |
