Eating and Outside Playtime Questions
 
Hi wonderful YT experts!
I know you're probably getting tired of "Zoe Questions", but I have a couple more.
Zoe,5 months, has been doing very well for about a month. The last couple days she hasn't been eating well. I checked teeth, and they look like teeny little nubs barely beyond the gums--may be teething and her mouth just hurts? Would you recommend soaking her dry food, or feeding canned for now?
Second: She wants to go outside and play...for a long time in my opinion...maybe 30 minutes, then in for a half hour or so, then out again, and so on. (I do go out with her...sometimes more fun than others :asleep:) I'm concerned that it is too cool for her to be out that long, but think she would shake or want in if she was cold. She's only 2 1/2 lbs, and her little paws are just about the size of a finger, so I'm worried she'll get sick or injured from the cold without knowing it. I also know that she shouldn't play for too long, especially since her calorie intake is down. Advice?

If she hasn't been eating well it could be her teething. Yes, soak her food or grind up her kibble a little in the blender. My Elsa hated her food soaked. You can give her some chicken w/ rice and a little veggies with it for now. The only problem is she might "really" like it and forget her dry food. Try a few things and see what works for her. As for the going out and it's cold outside(same here) try some new toys for her in the house. Do you have sweaters for her? Here, I use sewaters for my girl when she goes out, but I am the one who doesn't like to stay out when it's this cold. I make her come in and entertain her with toys. Let Zoe rest and entice her with some food so she can get her calories.

Thanks so much. Gave her some canned food this morning and it seemed to spur her on to even eat some dry. I will keep her resting more today...even though she is a wild woman and wants to be out playing in the melting snow!
