Double set of Teeth My little Dollie is 1 yr. old. She isn't loosing her teeth like she should. When she was groomed yesterday and groomer even said she needs to have these pulled. On the bottom she has two rows of teeth even on the top. Does this happen often? We are in the middle of a move to another state and I will take her to the vet promptly once we get settled. Of course the vet will have to put her out for this and I am worried sick about that. She was already spad when she was little so it's not like I can have it done then. I wished I'd known she was gonna have this problem. It scares me so bad to think about them putting her under. I love her so much....Am I being to concerned?????? |
I dont like having to put them under either but you really need to get this done. It is common to have double teeth. Both of mine had teeth removed when they were netered/spayed. The vet said they would not have cAme out on their own. I would think if your dogs havent came out by now they not going to and you will have to get them pulled. |

i know how you feel lexi has 1 double tooth, she will probably get it pulled tomorrow when she gets spayed..im sooooooooooooo nervous |
So. Double teeth aren't all that uncommon??? She-ra has one, and I have never noticed it till I read this!! What do I do!! She is 3 years old! O gosh, I feel awful!! |
Its not uncommon for toy breeds to have double teeth. Your gonna have to get that pulled. Im surprised with as long as shes had it she doesnt have bad breath where food was getting stuck inbetween the two teeth. |

You should have them pulled out before she have infections to her gums . |

Will rub off enamel of permanent teeth!!! My Laila had to have 7 teeth pulled when she was spayed about a month ago. She had 2 rows of upper teeth, and 2 on the bottom. If you leave the teeth in, the baby teeth will start to rub the enamel off of the permanent teeth - you definietly need to get them removed. Because they are baby teeth, it is relatively painless. Laila was eating hard food the following morning (and some fresh cut roast beef from the deli for after surgery... a little tasty treat!). Good luck! |

Miko had the same problem Don't worry my little Miko had the EXACT same problem. I did not want to put her under to remove her teeth but my vet assured me it was for the best. Just make sure that your vet knows what to use to put her to sleep. I believe the best sedation method is to use isoflorin (check the spelling)...not gas, like they use on most regular sized dogs. My breeder gave me that information to quiz the vet before the surgery...and he knew what he was doing... just kind of casually ask "so, what do you use to put such a small do under?" any good vet should know...Miko bounced back almost the very next day. He told me that she might be a little drowsy for a day or two..and he told me to soak her food in a little warm water to help it go down a little easier...I was so nervous but she was totally fine. If you don't have it done food will build up in between the teeth and cause major decay...quickly..good luck! |
