Which one? Between these three foods, which one have you tried and liked? Or do you know anything negative about these? Found all three locally and willing to try. They are: Instinct, Taste of the Wild, and Logic On Wellness right now. Due to tear stains, I am wanting to try a new food to see if it is the diet or not. Any help is appreciated!! |
I'm not an expert, but willing to give my humble opinion. . . lol! Until a month ago my dog was on Wellness Small Breed also. He loved it and did have an increase in eye gunk. That's not the reason I switched him though. I switched due to a wanting a lower (high quality) protein and limited ingredient food to due to allergies and sensitive kidneys. Sorry that is not want you wanted to know about, lol !I do know that the three foods you mentioned are high quality foods. When I first got Mocha he was Nature's Variety, the makers of Instinct. TOTW and logic are foods that I always hear great things about. Have you been to dog food analysis website to check their ratings. |

Yes, they all have good ratings. I think it was Instinct that really had the best if I remember correctly. When you changed foods did the eye gunk go away? |
It has not gone away completely, but it is a WHOLE lot better! When on Wellness Small Breed (which Mocha loved) I was cleaning his eyes daily. Now that he is on BB Basic I clean his eyes about every two weeks, if that! It was a great switch for him, but each furbaby is different. |

Blue Buffalo? |
I have never heard of Logic, but I use Instinct and Taste of the Wild in our rotation (along with NV Prairie, Orijen, and Acana). My boys seem to do good on them, and they like them too :) |
Yes, Blue Buffalo Basic Turkey and Potato |

Thank you! |
I have been feeding Piper Instinct Nature's Variety for a year and she loves it. She eats every last morsel and looks for more. |
NV Instinct is awesome. :) After dealing with tear stains while feeding Wellness, I put Jackson on Instinct when he was 9 months old and the eye boogers/stains completely stopped. It was also the first food at the time that I had found that he loved! I'd highly recommend it. Just remember you need to feed less of it. |
I switched my Wheaten, Lucy to TOTW (pacific stream)so Ziva is eating it by default- Ziva's hair is so much shinier and one eye doesn't tear ever, the other not as much.(she was on solid gold weebits before-and I was ok with it). I can't say enough good things about the TOTW for Lucy, the greasy skin and doggy odor is gone! Never have to clean her eyes and her ears are very good (for her)The poop is a breeze to clean up, never loose! |

They actually gave me 3 different samples of this one. Which one do you feed? |
We use the pacific stream, blue colored bag, fish is the main protein. Everyone I spoke to agreed that fish would be easier to digest for an older dog. |

I gave Rosie Instinct tonight. Now keep in mind, I have a very picky eater. She has turned her nose up so many times and walked away from food. However, She LOVED this! I can't believe it! The first sample I gave her and I think we might have a winner!!! |

I do hope the Instinct clears up Rosie's tear stains! I will let you know! You said I needed to feed less? I usually leave dry food out. Do I not need to do this? She is 5.5 lb, how much should she get? |
