Shaking Yorkie? So, this might be a weird question but maybe one of you will have some idea....My yorkie is doing this all over shake many, many times a day and night. Not like a "cold" shake, but the type as if I just drenched her in water and she is trying to sling it off. Her ears don't smell and she doesn't seem sick...but it's super annoying. Ideas? |
Could it be allergies, or dry skin? I'm just guessing. Good luck! |
How long has this been going on? Can you video tape it? |
How old is your yorkie? It is possible she you be in pain. Could she possible have a kidney or bladder stone? What color is her urine? |
My Lilly did this. She would just shake all over as if she were afraid all the time. She did it in warm or cold weather. After making sure she wasn’t ill, I got her a couple pieces of clothing. It was like a personality make over. Not only has she stopped the shaking but prisses around like a beauty queen. I believe they just make her feel more secure like a baby with its blanket. |
It not like a scared shake or a sick shake. Its just a shaking of her coat. Sort of like when they shake water off. But its DRIVING ME CRAZY AT NIGHT.:) So...no fleas FOR SURE. She has been double treated both oral and by bath. She is chewing on her front paws a bit and seems to be scratching some.... Maybe this is dry skin or allergies? I have tried sweaters on and off and everything. I read something on the internet about dogs under stress doing this....I dunno. Maybe it is vet time. |

Most probable cause is extreme itchiness. Since she is chewing her paws, I imagine it is her ears (ear and paw itching can go together). She needs to be seen as soon as possible because it sounds like she is extremely uncomfortable. Sounds like it could be allergies.. |
