Taste of the wild dry food cause eye boogers? I switched to Taste of the wild New sierra mountain formula for a month already, fed him 2/3 cup every day, he's got some eye boogers but i dont know if TOTW is the main reason, but he dont have eye boogers when he eats Orijen, Castor & pollux and Acana. Btw he weight 6.3 lb and he's 6 month old. |
No Eye Boogies here I have been feeding TOTW for over two years now with no eye booger problem. I have six adults and two show prospect pups at present that are thrive on TOTW food plus an elderly Boxer that has a very sensitive stomach. |
not as bad for us been using TOTW for several months with Winston, he does have a little eye bogger but not a bad as he did when he was eating Science Diet. |

Ive been using totw for a few weeks now and both tucker and lexee's eyes got worse within a 2 weeks of feeding it, not only are thier eyes always runny but lexee's mouth is stained reddish along with her feet, so I put them back on a tear stain treatment because IM NOT switching foods again. They are doing well so Im not messing with food changes. |

Umm ok. I am feeding wellness dry and wet science diet. Of course, the vet recommended the science diet. She uses I/d because of her extra sensitive stomach. I am fighting tear stains as well. Could this be from Science Diet? I know it is a terrible food. I am afraid to change her wet because of stomach issues. But maybe I should! |
Do note that every dog is different. Yes, low quality foods can be more likely to cause problems like this, but it can happen with higher quality foods as well. It is all about how YOUR dog reacts to the food. Find a food that works for them and stick with it. As long as they do well on it, the food is fine. If it is causing health/wellness issues (like allergies, etc) it is not fine. Of course, you want to feed the best food you can, but if you cannot then whatever works well is fine! I had a cat that ate complete crap food and lived to be very old and perfectly healthy! :D I now feed higher quality foods because I'm more educated, but that food never hurt my old cat. So I guess my answer is, yes TOTW might be the source of it for your pup while others do really well on it. It is an individual thing. Did you buy the food from somewhere that gives the option to bring the food back if it isn't working for your pup? I would recommend switching to another food if you do not like the results of this one. :) |
