My guess is that it's environmental. Do you think it could be from road salt on her feet? Road salt can cause not only irritated feet, but an upset stomach if the dog licks its feet. Wearing booties or rinsing the feet after a walk would eliminate that possibility. |
Road Salt Your pup is the dearest! Good point about road salt. Truth is we have been snowed in. So our walks have been limited and where we have walked there was no salt laid. Plus she had started doing this before the ice, snow and potential salt. There was ice previous to the huge dump of snow we have recently got, although Roxy wears rubber soled boots. Usually she wears them. If she doesn't at this time of year.. say because it isn't too cold or icy, I do wash her feet before her feet touch the floor inside and before she has a chance to lick them if she is going to.
