Used the Dremmel Tool for the first time on Moka's nail It was a Christmas present and I have to say, it was a success!! She wiggled just a little but not near as much as she did when I used a nail trimmer. I am so excited! Now her nails don't hit the floor when she walks, and when we were done, she came back to me when I let her go! LOL, with the trimmers she wouldn't even come into the same room until she was sure they were out of my reach! |
I love the tool also, but my babies don't like it at all. I'm just afraid to cut in fear of bleeding. Just be careful with the babies hair. It can get tangled in the tool. Because mine don't like it, they try to put their heads down where I'm trimming or move around alot. I have to hold their hair back and them very still so it doesn't get tangled. Still love it though! |
I had zero success with the dremmel. Uni didn't even like the sound and she is used to hearing all sorts of power tools. Even the air compressor doesn't bother her. But the petipaws? forget about it. Glad to hear it worked for you though. |
We've been using the Dremel nail trimmer for over a year now, and it's been great. My boys fidget so much that my husband has to hold each one as I trim, but it's so much better than the clipper. You can really get the nail down short and it doesn't hurt. And the best part is, no risk of cutting the quick and making them bleed. I'm glad you are having success with it. I think you'll like it even more as time goes on. :) |
I know! I totally expected her to be a big fight over it. She's very sensitive to noises. She's not cowardly, just very sensitive to sudden noises. Loud, quiet, big, small it doesn't matter. I really think it was the noise that the clipper made when it cut that actually freaked her out not the feeling of having them cut. I have worked with horses my entire life, and sometimes a constant noise, or feel such as the vibrating feel of cordless clippers actually has a calming effect on many of them over quick or sudden movement, so maye that is the difference with the dremmel over the manual clipper on dogs too since it was a constant feel once I got started. I hate long nails, and it seems so trivial but I am so happy to have had these results. :) |
