Fleas Has any one heard of using dog vit B, liver flavored tabs to combat fleas? Its a vit B complex, they say it changes the "flavor" of the dog and the fleas don't like the taste of your dog so you don't have fleas. OK sounds good, BUT I'm always wondering about this issue, the fleas. Fleas are a bugger in my area, I hate the chemical stuff, preferring the natural, but can't stand the smell of most of the other kinds of shampoos etc. Ideas? Thanks:animal-pa |
Had not heard that but will have to research now. :) I can recommend Minksheen shampoo -- it has natural flea repellants in it and I have not had any problem with mine for well over a year and no other flea products. I am glad to not be putting Frontline Plus on them anymore. It always worried me. Still -- it is better than fleas! I am glad the Minksheen is working for us. |
We use a product called "Flea Treats" which is like what you described. It was recommended by our holistic vet. We've had them on it since September and no sign of fleas so far. They love the pills too and think it's a treat and eat them right up. |
Yeast flakes put in the food works, (not the type you cook with) and so does garlic. I put about 6 to 8 cloves of garlic in their rice when I cook it, but after the rice is done I discard the garlic. The oils from the garlic will coat the rice. You can also use a cidar vinegar water mix as a last rinse: Bragg Live Foods, Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar, Bragg Liquid Aminos,Systemic Enzymes, Bragg Live Organic Food Products, Patricia Bragg, Paul Bragg, Bragg Organic Olive Oil, Bragg Salad Dressings, Bragg Seasonings, Bragg Health Products Here are more tips......Chinaroad Lowchens of Australia - Ticks, fleas, bees, flies, snakes and other gremlins!
