First time here 1 Attachment(s) Hi I received Gunther as a Christmas gift from my husband. He is an adorable little boy weighing approx 400gr. Gunther seems to be very intelligent . he knows his name after 3 days!!! We have 2 other dogs and Gunther wants to play with them but they want no part of that. I just want to make sure he is eating right and will remain healthy. right now i feed him puppy chow that i have wet with warm milk.:animal36 |
How old is Gunther? None of my dogs could ever tolerate cow's milk; so be careful with that. You can moisten the food with a little bit of warm water. |
Welcome to you and Gunther! He's adorable. You will find loads of information here about the care and feeding of Yorkies. I'm not so sure the milk on the kibble is a good idea - I'm assuming it's cow's milk. Hopefully one of the more experienced Yorkie owners will see this and give you good advice about what to feed. I do know that whatever you feed needs to be phased in slowly -- no sudden dietary changes or the puppy's digestive system can be upset. How old is your little one? |
Welcome! You will find this forum to be a great place for advice, information and encouragement. There is a thread that has all the information you can think of pretty much for new owners. That should really help answer a lot of your questions too. Best wishes on this new joy in your life. We love pictures on here so please keep us posted on how your little one is growing and doing. ;) |
Congratulations on your new baby! I'm not an expert, but I'm not sure if you should be feeding him puppy chow and (cow's?) milk. There are a lot of people on this forum as mentioned in a previous post that have a wealth of information to provide you on the subject. I suggest that you state your puppy's age, weight, and previous diet so that people on this forum can help you more directly. Again, congratulations on your new addition and welcome to YorkieTalk...your puppy is absolutely adorable!! |
Welcome to YT. :) Gunther is a cutie. As other's posted cow's milk should not be given, most can tolerate goat's milk however, or you could simply use warm water. Here are a few links you find some interesting information in. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...re-please.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...re-please.html |
