Is neutering my 3 year old really worth the risk? He isn't neutered but I have been told it is the best decision. I dont have any other dogs, the "marking" doesn't bother me. He is housebroken and only goes outside to do his buisness, so when he marks, I just see it as a natural behavior. I understand it could reduce the risk of cancer, but isn't it also painful for him? |
http://www.theriogenology.org/displa...barticlenbr=59 This is about the best read on the subject. Whether it is worth it or not would have to do with the risks the owner would prefer to take (and their vet). IMO, there is no right or wrong decision if he isn't trying to get loose, etc. I personally would neuter. |
IME, most males bounce back very quickly from the surgery. I would neuter. |
