I'm confused, do we know for certain the company doesn't do feeding trials? Or is the problem that they haven't answered questions at all?

If you are referring to Castor and Pollux, no they do not do feed trials. That information is on their website.

The website seems to indicate that they do not do feeding trials.
They aren't excited to answer questions.
And even beyond that, they are quite vague about who creates their foods.

Might be good, might be bad, might be just fine. Not the food for my pups, that's for sure.

Exactly why I switched. I don't want to find out later on that my pups were unknowingly in a feeding trial...they are not guinea pigs.

Okay, thank you both, I too agree feeding trials are important, I'm one of those who don't need the very best food out there, just a good food that's safe and that Joey will eat.

I agree, I know a lot of people don't like science diet but I am afraid with bad ecom, right now all these newer and smaller companies are going to cut corners and not tell, but mostly I am changing because my little voice in my head won't shut up it keeps telling me "your going to be sorry" and I feed Merrick and they have had a lot problems lately.

Nancy I consulted with a ACVN nutritionist who recommended Teddy's kibble -- the same one you feed to Joey. I don't think she would steer me wrong considering she's one of the top vet nutritionists in the country. I don't know what else would make a "best" food other than this kind of recommendation. She has zero stake in the pet food market and I trust her recommendation completely.

Lol, where were you three years ago? Seriously, I think it's important to eat a good diet, and I have trouble with those who are looking for the "BEST" food as I don't think it exists. You know the threads, What's the best food for Yorkies?" There is too many variations, and individual differences. Seriously, I had to take a lot of flak for 5 years saying I was feeding this food, and it really did bother me, but Joey did well on it and that's the bottom line. It's great to hear others whose opinion I respect, think it’s a good food too.

I had the same voice talking to me!

As for a lot of people not liking SD, they are not people with the degrees that my vets have; so I am very comfortable with my decision.
