Vomiting Issue Almost everyday my dog Sophia is pucking. We took her to the vet and they said to try prescription diet food first. So we put her on prescription diet food and shes still vomiting. They said if that didn't work it could be an enlarged esophagus (sp?) or pancreatitis. The test for an enlarged eso. is 80$, and from how they were talking if she did have that there is not much they can do for her. So I guess what I'm asking is, if she got the test and has the enlarged esophagus, what could they do for her? Also, if she has pancreatits.. what are her options? Any help would be greatly appreciated! At a loss here  |
I know it gets expensive, but they do need to rule out both pancreatitis and megaesophagus. Pancreatitis would require a very low fat diet and possibly drugs. Megaesophagus patients sometimes do better with certain textures of food and drugs. And if it is megaesophagus, there could be an underlying cause (hypothyroidism or myasinia gravis). I'd go ahead with the xray and Spec cPL like the vet is suggesting. |
Is it a yellow "bile" looking puke? Like scrambled egg before you cook it? |
