Peyton...possibly blind? Strambiscus? I have posted about Peyton on the general board, but I am posting here for info on strambiscus. Does anyone have any experience with this? I did a search and have read a little about it. I'm going to ask for a referral from the vet to take Peyton to a specialist. His eyes are not quite ligned up right. The seem to point out just a little (opposite of cross eyed.) So, if anyone has any information about this I would really appreciate it. Peyton is 11 1/2 wks old and weighs 3.2 lbs as of last week. Thank you! |
I know that I suggested an ophthalmologist on your other thread but maybe a Neurology consult might be a better choice. Please keep us posted on what they say at your next visit. |
A good place that I might start is a board certified ophthalmologist. I did a quick search in Indiana and you had a couple of choices. I'd let that person work with a neurologist but I would likely start there if the only issue was the eyes. If there were other neurological issues (falling over, staggering gait, etc), I might go right to neuro. Your vet should be able to help you decide on the type of specialist. Here is the link for Ophthalmologist veterinarians Search Page and here is one for neurologists ACVIM |
Thank you both. Yes, I think I'll talk to the vet about both options and see what she thinks. The visit is next Wednesday. Take care, |
