Cold Is there such thing as a dog cold or flu? |
The only thing that comes to my mind is kennel cough. I guess it's like a dog version of the cold. They cough, etc. Bordatella vaccine is used to prevent this but it doesn't always work and can be cleared up with antibiotics. |
Cold Sorry I didn't see your post earlier, but to answer your question, a big YES, they do catch cold. When Sprocket came to live with us it was colder, 20 degrees colder, than he was used to. He was used to the desert and I didn't know very much about little dogs and their not very good "coats". Anyway, even though it wasn't cold, he caught cold, my vet said, "You wear a coat, he wears one", and he hasn't had a cold or me the expense, since. Hope your baby DOES NOT have a cold cause they are miserable when they do have one and their's not much to be done about it. Just like ours. :animal-pa |

Great info to know! I always learn something new. Speaking of the doggy cold... since yesterday evening, Jackson seems like he's had a stuffy nose. I can hear him breathing and when he breathes out his snow, it's like 'harder'... I don't usually hear him, but it's literally sounds like a human with a stuffed up nose. He also did kind of a hacking sound.. not like CT or kennel cough, but different a few times since yesterday when he got excited which he's never done before. It's not excessive and he's acting happy and himself other than that but I'm keeping an eye on it. |
Hope you guys aren't going to have to deal with a cold, I see on TV all of your awful weather, OMG, the snow, so early! We atleast are only having the rain, I see the snow and think how do you deal? Anyway, hope you are well and no cold or flu. :animal-pa |
