Dry skin and coat Hi. My 6 month old Mindy has a dry coat and her skin is also dry. I was told that fish oil is great for her. The instructions say to give one pump up to 14 lbs. She weighs 3 lbs. Is one pump too much? Should I give it to her daily? |
I need to know this as well. Jenny gets dry skin, almost like dandruff ever once in awhile and takes a little bit to go away. But Ive been looking for something to prevent it. |
My vet recommended Missing Link Plus it has omegas and glucosamine. i just started her on it a few days ago, so it's still too soon for any results. I did try salmon oil before, she did not like it. I would put it on her favorite treats and she would not eat them. |
We use Nordic Naturals pet fish oil. I use one capsule daily but my yorkies are 7.5, 8 and 9.5 lbs. The veterinary nutritionist recommended this product to us. It's helped with Daisy's allergies alot and her coat has improved. |
I have been using Isle Of Dog Royal Jelly supplement for my 4 and i am loving the results. |
Truffle had dry skin and scratched all the time when she was young. I now only use Aveeno body wash (I use the lavender calming body wash) on her and Aveeno tear free baby shampoo on her face. He hair and skin have been fine for years and she immediately quit chewing her paws. This worked for her, but might not for everyone. I found out that CVS's version (lavender) works just as well. I think it is the colloidal oatmeal. |
Scooter also had terrible dry skin and the vet told me to use salmon oil and in a months time he has the prettiest, shiny coat. The vet even told me how pretty his coat was. Sadie is also taking the salmon oil. But be aware, under no circumstances should you give them human fish oil, one of my friends told me to do this and I asked the vet first and she said that human fish oil can cause blood clots. |
