Thank you guys for all the comments! I am going to look into the frozen raw diet once I get through finals for school. I think there is a place in Columbia that sells Nature's Variety. Really really wanted to try TOTW, but the pieces felt so big. She acts excited about the Solid Gold so far, but the only thing that concerns me is she is still eating all of the old food too..before, she would always pick around the old food to get just the new stuff- and turn her nose up at the old stuff. I just don't want her to get bored so easily this time. Really want to settle down on something! |

Solid Gold Wee Bits is a fine food! You are always going to read someone's dog did bad on just about every food there is. I think a lot of the puppies were just having a virus or early digestive problems common in pups and would have problems no matter which food. Soem people even wind up thinking their dog had an allergy when in fact, they just had an upset tummy during the tme they used a particular food. When they switched, the virus/tummy trouble ran its course too and it seemed the new food was the answer! So people experience with puppies and new foods are not the best reference. Here is a good reference -- a very persnickety review on all the main dog foods: I think any dog food that can get a 4 star or above from these people is a GREAT food! Ziva ate solid gold wee bits for over 1 year, one of the few I found that was small enough. She did great on it! She got bored and we switched to TOTW, she is now willing to crunch up bigger kibble- but I would go back to solid gold. |
