Tink is getting spayed today
 
I just dropped Tink off at the vets for her spay surgery. She is going to get microchipped and have 2 baby teeth pulled also. I am a nervous wreck! She will be spending the night and I will pick her up tomorrow morning.
I am wondering what size onesie have others used for their pups? Tink is 4 lbs. I am hoping I can use a onesie instead of a collar for her. I am going to go shopping just to keep myself occupied until the vet calls.

I will keep Tink in my prayers for a safe procedure. I used a newborn onsie for mine. If that is too big try a preemie. You can get them real cheap at Walmart.

I'm sure Tink will be fine -- but I sure understand your worry. I'm worried about Tallulah and her spay is months away!

You didn't mention it -- but you're having bloodwork done, right?

I will be thinking about you and Tink today -- heck, I may have to go do some retail therapy in support of you!

I will be thinking about your baby today! Scarlett has three months until she gets spayed and it is already making me nervous. I never heard about the onesies...is it so they don't bother their incision? Do you just unbutton it for potty time?

Thanks for your well wishes everyone.

Tink is awake and the vet said everything went fine!!! Whew..:)

Boopster- Yes Tink had her pre-op blood work and liver panel last week. After all I have learned here on YT i knew that was neccessary and I had her at the vets for a check anyway so it worked out great.

Winston08- Yes the onesies are to protect her incision. I hope it works for Tink. I read about that technique here. :)

Thanks. You are so right. I am itching to pick her up. I had to come in to work for a couple of hours this morning and it is killing me. I will be picking her up at 11:00.:)

Thanks Boopster. I did not sleep well last night. My dh was missing her too, and that just melts my heart. :)

I'm with you! Just dropped Shadow off for her spaying, chipping and teeth removal.

Hope to hear by 10:30am. Going food shopping to get my mind off what's going on.

Tink will be in my thoughts too, that's what I almost named Shadow.

My baby Lola got spayed, microchipped, and teeth pulled today. I'm one those people that don't like to jinx things so i didnt mention it, but I just got word that shes doing great and I can pick her up today!

I'm soooo happy!

This seems to be spay week here on YT! Careful hugs to Tink, Shadow, and Lola. poor babies. Keep us posted on how they're doing.

Got the call that Shadow is doing fine and I can pick her up this afternoon.

My daughter was at the Vet's with her little dachshound and they let her peek in on Shadow. She said her eyes were open and her tongue was hanging out where they pulled the tooth. The vet said the root was long for a baby tooth, is that normal?

That is just what I was thinking! I hope everyones girls are doing well.

I just got Tink situated on my bed for a nap. She is doing well with the onesie and leaving her incision alone. Poor baby. I can tell she is not feeling herself. The vet sent me home with some metcam and I think I will be giving her some later tonight as she already had a dose this morning. Is it normal for them to squeal in pain when they try to poop? Tink did this and stopped pushing so only a little came out. I hope she doesn't get constipated from holding it. I am going to go lay down with my girlie and baby her for tonight. Thanks again everyone for thinking of her.:)

And at least one neuter.... I got Riley neutered Friday. Picked him up at 4:30 the same day and he was already getting back to his playful self and giving kisses a few hours later. It has been hard keeping him from running and jumping.....I an off until Wed. though so I have been watching him like a Hawk.

Not to say your pup might be different, but I didn't use a onesie or a collar on either of my girls...Apple was spayed about a year ago, and Cha was spayed in August...I've never used anything w/any of my girls, over my lifetime, and they do just fine...I think, years and years ago, I had one mini dachshund that licked on her stitches, but she didn't have a problem either...I'd have a onesie, on hand, just in case, but I would presume there would be an issue...Hope I don't get blasted for this post :eek:
