Switched to Acana, puppy poop 3 times daily
 
Ok i just switched to Acana grain-free grassland for a week, TomTom loves it and his stools are no longer loose and smelly, but the negative side is he poop 3 times daily, Around 12pm, 4pm, 9pm....Is this normal??.. He used to poop 1 to 2 times daily, since he's just a little puppy ( 3.5 month old , 3.2 lbs ) I dont expect him to poop so much. Is it related to the high protein or high calories issue in Acana??? I fed him 1/3 cup everyday.

My puppy s a little over 4 months old and she is pooping twice a day. I think 2-3 times a day is perfectly normal for a puppy. Don't worry. Acana is a great food and if he likes it, it should be fine.

Rizzo went 3 times a day until recently, now it's 2 times a day, in the morning and evening and he is 11 months old now. I think the times you listed are normal for a puppy his age.

Bella is almost 5 months old and she goes 2 to 3 times a day. She eats 1/2 cup of Medical Developmental. She weighs 4.5 pounds. In the morning I put 1/3 of a package of Little Caesar in with some of her dry food. When she finishes that I put the rest in the dish dry and she free feeds the rest of the day. I wash her dish out first though. Normally by 6pm she has finished everthing and is not looking for anything more. I think she is getting enough food, but I see where some others are eating more than her. Need some input guys, what do you all think. She is active and seems quite content. Do you think her weight is good for her age.

She should definitely be getting enough food.

My 2 year old, 15lb Yorkie eats 1/2 cup per day of Acana or Orijen kibble. Along with a bit of wet food and treats per day.

Jackson poops 2-3x per day. I find when he's more active and does a ton of running, etc, he poops 3x a day. But it's usually twice per day. Very rarely does he only go once per day.

Give it some time, your pup is still adjusting to the new food as well. Acana is an amazing food, and as others have stated 2-3 times a day is pretty normal. My Snick poops once a day, but I rotate raw into his diet every morning so once a day for Snickers is normal.
