Eating Tips anybody got any tips on how to get my yorkie pup of 4months to eat... is there anythin that can be put on her food or be mixed into it???? |
When my little "Princess" was only a few months old when we brought her home, she was a picky eater also. Our vet told me to get some soft food and mix with her puppy food. Make sure if your little pup is not eating to give Nutri Cal. This will help make sure the little pup is getting nutrients needed. You don't want the pup to get hypoglycemic from not getting enough nutrients. I bought puppy can food that had gravy in it to mix with dry food. Also it helps to moisten the dry food. I only feed "premium" foods that are bought from the local pet stores. |
Might be teething, too. If you think it could be teething, some ice chips would feel good to feverish gums. Sharon suggested adding some canned food in and that is a great suggestion. You can even add some warm water to help. It is also possible that she doesn't like that particular kibble, whatever it is. You can try another. |
You might try raw food like Primal or Nature's Variety. My girl LOVES it and cleans her dish every time. Cherie |
Sprinke a bit of parmesan cheese on it - just a little and see what happens. |
What are you feeding your yorkie now? dry? wet? raw? |
at the minute shes eating a little over half a pedigree pouch a day which is about 90g of wet food, i try giving her different flavours everyday and i also always leave some dry food out 4her aswell seperate but she mite eat 3 or 4 nuts out of it all day.... ive started giving her a small bit of cheese but im afraid 2 give her 2much.... i jus dont no if 90g of wet food is enough or should she be eating more a day, shes 4months and still only 1.2lbs.... |
Our Happy is not a puppy but finicky none the less, we slightly warm his canned food up (can't eat dry - teeth extraction) in the microwave - it is the one sure way for me to get him to eat, he seems to be able to smell the food better this way. |
