Bad Breath!! Is baking soda safe to use as toothepaste? Hey guys! Lately, juliet has had the WORST breath I have ever smelled coming from her. I don't know what to do. One of my friends told me that she brushes her dogs teeth everytime she gives her pup a bath. I probably should try this. She emailed me this article about bad breath in dogs, and told me to try this baking soda/water mix. Is that safe? Could it be harmful to her health? I'm a little hesitant to try it, even though she says it's fine. Anybody ever tried it? if this doesn't work, i'm going to have to take her to the vet. But I'd rather avoid doing that if I don't have too... Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks~ |
If there has recently been a dramatic change in her breath I really think that a visit to the vet is needed. How old is she and has she ever had a dental? I'm not sure about the baking soda but there are plenty of dog safe toothpastes that you could purchase. Good luck. |
We had the same problem, called the vet, and he suspected that it was her cutting teeth. As long as she is on a high quality food that doesn't contain fish. So he suggested an additive for her water. We went to the pet supply store and got some TropiClean Fresh Breath. It really helped. |
