Missy in the mobile dog groomers OMG Im a bag of nerves.....A friend of mine recommended a mobile dog groomers, and she has just arrived, and taken a very nervous Missy out there. This has always been a problem...the groomers that is,but honestly she really needs a regular groomer who she can feel relaxed with, but saying that right from an 8 week old,she will not go near anyone,I havent a clue why she's like this as Ive treated her like a baby....maybe thats why. Anyway just thought id post it as I sit here waiting nervously, and hope this will be her forever groomer.I have tried to do her myself, but one look at any scissors and she's off:(. |
I use a mobile groomer...she takes all three out to her big mobile unit, and two of them run around on the floor, while she's doing one of them...they seem to get done, really quickly, so it's not long and they're back in the house... |
She'll be okay. :) That probably is why. When they are really babied (depends to what extent), lack of confidence/nervousness could be a problem. |
Aw, she will be okay. :) I LOVE my mobile groomer. Jackson is going today as a matter of fact. I love that he's done within 45 minutes right in my own driveway. |
She will be so pretty when done. I have 2 that are really shy and 2 that aren't. So it could just be her personality. |
I recently started using a mobile groomer for Knox and I like it so much better than the Pet Smart type groomers. Knox is done so quickly and never has to be in a cage or pin while he waits his turn :) |
She'll be great, the're a lot like kids, on there best behavior with other people. |
I'm on a waiting list for a mobile groomer here. They are supposed to be really good and the only one in town. They have a waiting list but told me that no one really drops off. In the meantime I found a really great groomer that I love. She doesn't put them in cages. My two are in an ex-pen together. She also lets like size/temperment dogs out to play for periods of time. This is the first groomer I've taken Sadie to that she doesn't get the shakes. She is well socialized - it just makes her nervous. Beemer on the other hand is just very laid back and nothing gets to him. He's happy to be anywhere! |
I also use a mobile groomer for my two. I chose this route mainly because it is less stressful on them. They get done so quickly too which is another plus! |
Hi! Glad to see you stopping by! I'm sure she'll do fine.... maybe first day jitters? I think one member here asked the mobile groomer if she would come into her house and do her dogs. I think she bathes them herself and the groomer comes in to do the trimming. Maybe ask about that? |
A mobile groomer is the way to go. We've used one for Snickers and Baxter and it's less stressful for everyone. I can walk out and check that everything is OK. And the dogs know they're right outside, which makes them feel more secure. I'm sure Missy will be ok ...just give it some time. :) |
We have used a mobile groomer in the past and really liked them, but then we found a "stationary" groomer and fell in love with her. Our kiddos perk right up when we say "Are you ready to go see Miss Leslie!?" We have followed this lady for the past 10 years as she went from working at a groomers to opening her own place and then relocating once. We enjoy that we have two "nervous nellies" so rather than grooming them all at once, she grooms them for a bit, then puts them down to play and then grooms another. Seems that it has worked wonders with our two nervous ones and my handsome baby boy Houston always "preens" when he gets home! |
Hopefully the mobile groomer session went well. :) Bet Missy looks great. I hired a mobile groomer once. Unfortunately, it was so difficult for them to back down our dead end street and find a place to park, that they were not interested in returning. Oh well. |
