You need to take care of everything at once- the dog and the house. Scrub the dog really good with Dawn like others have said, you may need to do it more than once if it is really bad. As soon as all the fleas are off the dog, put frontline, advantage, or something like that on the dog. You also need to have the house taken care of- you can buy flea bombs- although it is sometimes most effective to just have someone professional come and spray- they will spray the inside and outside of your house. You will need to have any pets out of the house while it is done though. Good Luck. |

The sooner you get something the better. London got fleas shortly after I got her after I let her play with another puppy. I got a flea comb and started getting them out, I think I was told to drop it in HOT water with dish soap. Her vet gave her Advantix and I swear to you in like a day they were gone, now she gets it every month to prevent fleas and ticks. But I kept flea combing her just to make sure. You can also get a flea killer for your house, my vet has those available but I haven't used them. Good luck with the fleas! |
If you don't like chemicals to treat the fleas on your baby I HIGHLY recommend using a good cedar oil product! CedarCide or WonderCide are the best products! You can't go wrong with this stuff, as it is completely harmless to animals, but deadly to insects! I've been using this since August and down here in the deep South fleas are as abundant as mosquitos. I used BestYet on the boys after a bath and CedarCide on the yard. We have had NO fleas, in the house or yard, since! |
