Anyone feed natures recipe terrier breed I was talking to a representative at the store today and he made it sound awesome i mostly homecook, but i do leave kibble down for them 24/7 right now its taste of the wild, but i think i might switch. if anyone feeds this and likes it or tried it and didn't please share your experience with me thank you oh yeah hear is a link in case you aren't sure what food I'm talking about. http://naturesrecipe.com/recipe_detail.aspx?id=446 |
Funny that you say the representative was making it sound amazing. I was at Petco looking at dog food and there was a representative from Nature's Recipe also. She also made it sound amazing. Oh, and she had a yorkie and was feeding her yorkie Nature's Recipe. She also gave me a coupon for $5 off. I did not purchase it because I wanted to research it. Amanda, another member here, gave me a site where I could look at the ratings of foods. Here is the link. Dog Food Reviews - All Products - Powered by ReviewPost They are giving it a 2 star and did not recommend the product. I am not planning on purchasing it for my Rosie. Just my opinion. I will let you know that I am currently battling over what to feed her. So, I may just be too picky. |

The site I gave a link to says this also: Inadequate meat content, mixed quality ingredients, fat of unidentifiable origin We note that this product includes synthetic vitamin K, a substance linked to liver problems  and that is progressively being removed from better quality dog food products. I am sure glad I didn't listen to that lady at Petco. |

I was going to say that for Petsmart, it's one of their better ones. Wellness, Blue Buffalo and Nature's Recipe are/were the only foods I'd recommend to purchase there. Nature's Recipe has a new grain-free variety and while it's grain-free, it's still lacking in the meat department. Del Monte: Nature's Recipe But still seems better to me than 95% of the foods offered in Petsmart. |
I don't see menadione in the grain-free verison but maybe I'm missing it??? Chicken, sweet potatoes, potatoes, chicken meal, pea protein, poultry fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), apples, pumpkin, chicken digest, tomato pomace, salt, potassium chloride, vitamins (vitamin E supplement, L-ascorbly-2-polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), inositol, niacin supplement, vitamin A supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate, beta-carotene, riboflavin supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, menadione sodium bisulfite complex, vitamin D3 supplement, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B12 supplement), choline chloride, minerals (zinc proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, iron proteinate, copper sulfate, copper proteinate, manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, calcium iodate, sodium selenite), yucca schidigera extract, rosemary extract, citric acid (used as a preservative). |

I spoke to my groomer and she said that Taste of the Wild and Innova were good ones to feed. They are 6 star and 5 star ratings. I looked and I don't think either had menadione in them. Lady mom do you know anything about these two? |

Ok Ladymom. Please share what you feed your babies. You obviously have done some research. All of the information coming in starts to get a little overwhelming when you start looking at all the different foods. It seems like there isn't a good one. Do you mind to share? Thanks!!! |
Sometimes I think people think way too much about dog food, including myself! Basically, ya gotta find what is right for your dog, as each dog is different! But in general, the main company I trust is Champion Pet Foods. And most people will tell you the same thing. |

I homecook for Lady now because of all her health issues so I'm no help! Lady has been diabetic for almost eight years (she's almost 15) so I have always been limited on what I could feed her. It was probably easier that way. ;) I fed her Nature's Variety Prairie for several years, up until she developed liver damage from years of seizure medication and couldn't eat red meat anymore. I was very happy with that food. There are so many choices today. It's overwhelming. |
