Help!! My yorkie needs sleep MY lucy Never sleeps not during the day or at night .. I have put a camera at night to watch her sleeping patterns but at night she up every 20 minutes - 45 minutes because my heat kicks on or a car passing by.. I don't know what to do..Any ideas??:animal-pa |
I have never heard of this before, I think its something you should speak to your vet about as she really needs her sleep. One suggestion I have... you could try washing her bedding in something lavender scented. There are lots of lavender baby lotions ect that are suposed to help a baby sleep, maybe the smell will work for a pup? |
Maybe soft music in the background... or eventually most yorkies end up in bed with their Mommies and Daddys... :D |
I had this problem with a male I was showing. Whenever we would stay in a hotel he would be up with every single noise. Eventually I turned the TV on turned the volume down far enough where I could sleep but just high enough to distract him from other noises. It worked for us and now he doesn't have that problem. |

It's best to avoid scented laundry detergents as the perfumes and dyes can cause allergies and even seizures in some dogs. How about one of those white noise machines? |
Where is Lucy's bed located? Perhaps if it was moved to a quieter location, it would help with her sleep? At night, my yorkie Tatiana sleeps in an exercise pen right next to my bed. If she wakes up at night and barks, I can roll over, and reach down, and comfort her. Tatiana has sharp hearing, and any sound can agitate her. |
I have one of those! She naps...........off and on during the day and all during the night. Every time I move in bed, she's up to check on everything. During the day, she's in for the short haul, never the long naps the other three delight in. I call her my Nervous Nelly, but she's hale and hearty, great appetite and happy as a lark, so I put it down to just "her" disposition........some pups are laid back and calm......I have one who just moves her eyes......and others are zippy. Sounds like you have a "Zippy"! |
