Great Dr. Schultz /Dodds article about vaccines Thanks to Kris Christine for this - I pulled this out of her thread below bc it really is an important article. This snippet is regarding Schulz, in talking about his approach to vaccines after the 1yr boosters: "The AAHA recommendations are a middle-of-the-road approach. A minimalist, like Schultz, would give rabies (the other core vaccine) every three years, as required by law, and would never give the core vaccines again." The full article is great! Thank you Ann for posting the info here, I missed it before. It's good to know more vets are finally getting on board with the new protocols but frustrating how many vets are not. When I tried to discuss this with our former vet, he actually became almost angry with me, insisting that not all is known yet, and some in the profession haven't come to the same conclusion Dr. Dodds has:confused: Did you read this? "about Know which breeds and types of dogs are at risk of adverse reactions. They include Akitas, Weimaraners and small white-coated breeds." Would our parti kids be included as white coated breeds even though they are not completely white? |
Thank you for the info. |
Excellent Article! Thanks, Ann. |

How uncomfortable with your former vet :(. It's sad bc overvaccinating is so bad for their systems and it's one area where we really do have studies/proof of duration of immunity...so it's sad that some vets still refuse to evolve, or at least respect the owner's preference. |
When white coats appear in breeds that are normally not white, there is a hugh chance of them being deaf, and/or blind, and of having other genetic weaknesses. I'm guessing that all white coated breeds evolved from color coated parents, and may just be more sensitive overall as opposed to color coateds, and we already know that smalls breeds are affected... white coats probably greatly increase those odds. I can't wait till they decide to reduce the amount of vaccine needed to create immunity in smaller dogs! |
