my yorkie doesn't eat what to do?? My yorkie's about to turn a year old. She just got her period last month and I've noticed she doesn't eat much ainymore. She dropped weight and keeps on sleeping. But she does get motivated when I teach her tricks. What do I do so she gets back on her usual appetite?? |
eating what do you feed your yorkie? If they don't have a taste for their dry dog food anymore, maybe buying canned and warming it slightly in the microwave will tempt it../ you can also try baby food...though not as a permanent fix... roxanne |
You could try her with some scrambled egg (mixed with water not milk) to get her to eat something. Have you changed her food recently? maybe she dosnt like it. If she continues this behaviour I would take her to see a vet just to rule out any sickness. |
Why have you not had her spayed? |
you can add some solid gold canned green tripe to her food; it should help. good luck |
Have you tried stella and chewys dehydrated raw food? Our very picky yorkie loves it so much! And surprisingly, he's put on some weight too. |
Hi guys! thanks so much for all your replies. I really appreciate it! I took my baby bella to the vet because she started to vomit yellow stuff that looked like bile. I was noticing that she became less active. We had her blood checked and her platelet was low, and had high liver enzymes. Turned out she had erhlichia. The vet said she got it from a tick bite. I just got a new yorkie and I think she got it from him. Right now, shes under treatment and my other yorkie is also on the preventive treatment as well. She's very active now and I'm soo happy. :) |
tattie_momo Glad you were able to get this resolved and that it wasn't any more serious than it was. FYI, there are times when my pups (actually they are adults but they are still pups to me) act like they are tired of their food or just will not eat for a period of time. I have learned to disolve either a chicken or beef bullion cube in a small coffee cup of water. Each time I feed them I heat the broth in the microwave for 1 to 11/2 min and sprinkle about 1/2 to 1 table spoon to their food. Non fattening and it adds a little flavor. |
