I would give her white rice and the gerber chicken sticks for a day or 2 if she is not better by then i would take her to the vet. |
Did you recently change her diet? If yes, there is a similar thread here - http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...rong-help.html Maybe she has an upset stomach? Sandy threw up yellow liquid/foam a few times before. I noticed that happened when he didn't really eat the day before. |
I havent changed her diet and I have been keeping a good eye on her. She seems playful but she is being a suck and want me to hold her all the time. I dont know what is going on :( |
They throw up yellow liquid when they are hungry and there is no food in their system. What does she eat? Did you try plain chicken and rice? |
She eats iams for small dogs. I am afraid to change anything because she has been so sick lately. she has been sleeping more then usual i have been making sure to give her plenty of water. She only weighs 5 pounds and i dont want it to be anything serious. I called the vet but all they said was bring her in and I dont want to if it is nothing. |

take her to the vet; but i think she' s not tolerating the food. since she's vomiting the food too. iams is a very low quality food and has corn in it which can be very difficult for dogs to digest. you should think about switching her to a high quality wet food which is easier to digest. try wellness simple solution duck and rice or salmon and rice. good luck. |
Apple cider vinegar for tummies! I was having the same issues with my two 2-1/2 year old yorkies. Just recently, I started taking the dried apple cider vinegar capsules for myself. They would be throwing up and it would be either yellow or green bile sometimes foamy. I decided to start giving them some! I've heard that it's as good for them as it is for us so I'd give it a try. There hasn't been any vomiting since!! And as for the throwing up food, I also recently read an article that really made sense. When a dog eats dry food, it mixes with the fluids in their stomach and expands, hence making them fuller than they should be, any they throw it up. So wetting the dry food and letting it expand prior to ingestion works, OR just feed smaller amounts at a time so that they don't get over full. Good Luck! |
*For dosage I take one capsule and open it and sprinkle just about half on the food (I wet the food to mix this in) that I then divide between three small dogs. Their weights combined come to about thirty pounds. |
My Harley dog is vomiting a green phlegm?? I have an 8 year old male yorkie I have had since birth. He gets fed once a day a dry lamb and rice mixture, has good elimination regularly, exercises daily and is not up to date on his immunizations. This morning he vomited a green phlegm like substance. He doesn't appear lethargic, his gums seem to be good in color and refill, is drinking water fine, gets a monthly flea/tick/mites meds between his shoulder blades on the 5th of every month. WHAT could this possibly be? |

My 6 month old yorkie had the EXACT same symptoms and I thought nothing of it since she had minor symptoms but a lot of them but not one real prominent issue. Took her to get spayed and they did a blood test which they found her liver enzymes to be elevated. Then did a bile acid tests and those were high too. Suspected liver shunt and if not that, definitely something going on with her liver but won't find out exactly what until she has a biopsy. Because I am personally going through this and your story resonated with mine; I would recommend a blood panel for your baby just to be sure. |
My Yorkie Harley is throwing up Yesterday our Yorkie threw up when we got home from work and again 3 times during the night last night. He is 6 months old. Any advice? He is not eating and is just laying around and not being his playful self. |
