3 year rabies shot when the time comes, that is what our vet does. Is it safe for little guys? I don't think they give it until about 4 months if I am remembering what they told me. |
I'm confused as to whether there is an actual difference in the 1 year vs.3 year vaccine. Different places on the net say conflicting things. The one thing they all do agree on is that you do need the initial vaccine and then the 1 year follow up. The immune system takes time to develop sufficient immunity. Rabies vaccinations - learn why are some good for 1 year and some good for 3 years for rabies vaccinations |

PS.. mine get a dose of baby benadryl prior to the shot |
Pfizer's Defensor I and Defensor III are the same, so that's why some say they are the same. Other companies may not do this, like Merial. Someobdy on YT said that their vet said other companies don't have identical vaccines (1 and 3 year). And for these companies, supposedly the 3 year is different or stronger. We never got to the bottom of it around here. We'd have to call companies and such... |
