Vaccine Reaction *doing well this AM* This probably comes as no surprise to everyone, but Khloe had a reaction to her 3rd round of vaccines yesterday. She was sore and very sluggish all day; she had us worried sick. However, I'm happy to say that at 4 AM, she is spunky, lively, and fully recovered. This will be her last vaccine besides her required rabies vaccine until she is 1. I'm also seeking a vet that does titers so I won't have to give her annual boosters. This was not a fun experience. I'd also like to add that the worse case scenario experiences kept popping up as I researched 'common small breed dog vaccine reactions' online. I saw everything from seizures in dogs to dogs actually catching the virus in discussion threads. So I'm a bit frazzled and sleep-deprived. However, I'm very thankful for the health and well-being of my loved ones. Happy Friday, YT community!!! Enjoy your weekend! |
Sounds like what happened to my pup. Scared me and I normally don't over react to much. Luckily, like your girl she was back to normal the next day. |
Sorry to hear that you and Khloe had a rough time of things. Glad she's doing better today. |
I am glad Khloe is doing better. |
Hate it Sophie had a similar reaction on one of the rounds of vaccinations. When I told my vet when we went for the next round he gave a steroid shot to counteract the problem and it worked like a charm. |
Hi! I just posted something in the sick/injured section about my dog Stella. She also had a reaction to a vaccine (not sure which since she had 2 at once - rabies and distemper). I am nervous for her as she is still showing symptoms (head shaking and lethargic) and she got the vaccinations on Wed. I am so nervous for her next vaccines! I am glad your dog was ok!!!! It is very scary. |
