can anybody help? I have a 3 yr old male yorkie. He was neutered a year ago. Yesterday i noticed he was licking where he was neutered at and it had become kinda raw. I put some vaseline and some anti itch cream on it and tryed to put a onesie on him so he couldn't lick it but he hates clothes and absolutely would not keep the onesie on, he would yelp until i took it off lol. Today it is worse, its all swollen, it kinda looks like a tiny testicle that has come back out but i know that can't be, can it? I was thinking he might have gotten a flea and maybe it was biting him and he started chewing and got it infected. Thats another thing, if one flea gets on him, he goes crazy LOL...any ideas on what this could be? Thanks |

licking causes wet moist humid... It has been so hot in the past few weeks ..I am guessing a Fungus has started |
Thanks, yeah i will take him to the vet tomorrow if it dont get better. My vet is an hour away and this is the weekend so i have to wait until tomorrow. Hoping that someone on YT might have seen the same thing and might know what it is. |
Yes a trip to the vets. Could be fleas, some dogs are allergic to the fleas bite. But a vet can tell you and give you something to help. |
Fungus? I never thought of that. Yes it has been very hot here but my yorkies mostly stays in air conditioning. Thanks |
Yes, im thinking flea also. I use frontline plus and have no problem with fleas but ya never know. Not long ago, he acted like he had a flea and he would run like crazy LOL..i checked and checked but couldnt find one so i went ahead and put frontline on him...after that, no more problem haha |
Also, Rosie got into chiggers one time and had to get a shot from the vet. It could be any kind of insect/bug/whatever they are, I guess. The chiggers drove her crazy!! Just like they do use. And just like yours, heaven help us if she has a flea or tick. She goes bananas!! |
Im hoping it goes down on its own...any suggestions on what i could put on it to give him some relief in the meantime? |
I don't think triple antibiotic cream would hurt him. It might help with infection. |
Thanks Everybody who responded. I havent been on YT in a while but when a problem arises, the first thing i thing of is YT. Hes doing a little better, he eats good, it looks like it has went down a little. The only time he acts like it really bothers him is when i put medicine on it, he dont like for it to be touched. |
