Too Many Teeth??!! Hello Yorkie Parents!!! Its been a while, but I need some advice. I took T-Bone to the vet the other day and he told me that T-Bone hasn't lost all of his baby teeth. He still has 2 baby canines on the top, although all of his adult teeth are in. The vet said if they don't come out soon he will have to have them surgically removed. I don't really care about the price (he said about $300+) but I don't want them to have to put T-Bone under for it. Does anyone know of any chew toys or treats or whatever that would help get them out??? |
Is T-Bone neutered? I'm having my female's baby teeth extracted when she's spayed. |

Otherwise if he needs neutering then have teeth extracted during the neuter. |
I plan to have any retained baby teeth removed at the same time of Lulu's spay. That way she will only need to "go under" once. And they only charge an additional $5/tooth b/c I'm already paying for everything else. |
Don't feel bad...it's not at all uncommon for Yorkies (most toy breeds acutally) to retain their baby teeth. Generally, they are removed at the time of the spay/neuter. |
Fix time is the time too look for and extract any baby teeth. They may fall out but doubt it. You can always tie a small string around them and then to a door knob, and slam the door as you hold the dog. No, don't do that. It never worked when they did it to me. |
