Are they phantom or real? Yes, this is embarassing to ask and it's a bit detailed in description, so considered yourself warned.... Rocco was neutered last week, but I noticed something strange yesterday when I got home and he was excited for his belly rub as usual. When he rolled over and was very happy to see me, his *ahem* 'Welcome Whistle' was showing a bit, but I also saw two little walnuts bulging at the mid-lower base of his penis. What?? I'm certain they were removed (walnut bag is empty), so what the heck were they - phantom ones he thought he still had? Seriously, does anyone know? (I feel dumb right now) |
OMG, this is so funny because years ago I came home to my Vinnie and noticed that he had two HUGE bumps bulging around the base of his, er, penis. I totally panicked and called my vet. My vet reassured me that these are glands that remain in males and which pop up whenever they get excited and/or have to pee. After he explained all this to me, he said, "So, you're proud of me, right?" I asked what he meant and he laughed and said, "Because I didn't even ask WHY you were looking at your dog's penis!" We both had a very good laugh. |
Its the bulborus ( I think thats how you spell it) gland |
