Does he dislike his food or just eat very little? My 10 month old Yorkie-Poo Sammy eats very little of his dry food. I feed him Bil-Jac as that was what he breeder fed him before he came to live wtih us. I feed him once in the morning and once in the evening but he only eats a handful and it takes coaxing, playing and hand feeding. My boyfriend thinks it's because he doesn't like his food, I think maybe he just doesn't eat much. But of course he eats all his training treats and treats stuffed into his Kong. Any thoughts? Any advice on food that your Yorkie loves? |
I don't know anything about Bil-Jac food, but some yorkies are just picky eaters. There are days my 6 month old just flat out refuses to eat anything I put in his bowl, but he will eat if I hand feed him his kibble! If he's eating his training treats and kong stuffing, it could be that he is getting too full from those- make sure they are high quality food items and not junk food. Have you tried mixing in a small amount of a different type of food to see if that perks up his interest? |
