Yorkie teething issue My friend's yorkie is being so destructive, she keeps on biting furnitures around the house she even bites me! What should I do? Any help or suggestions? Thank you! |
You can try bitter apple spray on the furniture. It's available at Petsmart. Some dogs hate it, others love it. It's a gamble. If she bites you, fold your hands across your chest and say "ouch!" or try to mimic a puppy yip. You can also hold your hand up in the "stop" signal and say "no bite." Make sure she has plenty of chew toys and treats. |
my puppy is super bitty too. i have given her sooo many toys to try to help this. i have also gotten the bitter yuck spray. because its water based it goes way after a day or so, so you have to spay it in the same spot over again. i think it worked but like maximo said some dogs like the taste. another word of warning is that when spraying the bottle if you choose to get it, just be careful and make sure your mouth isnt open. the spray goes everywhere and if you get any on your hands nose or mouth it stays there for at least 2 days. it taste nasty!!!! haha. with the toys, sometimes it really pre ocupies her time and other times she could care less. |

I just bought a spray, let's see if it works |
It is a hard stage but it will pass. Be firm and tell no when biting something they should not and right away give them an acceptable option like a toy or frozen wash cloth with praise. PS... I used some old wash cloths wet in water, wrung out half way and then put in the freezer. The dogs loved them to chew on. |
