Is nutri cal ok? Hello I just got an 8wk old yorkie terrier female her name is Kali. I purchased from the local pet store Nutri cal but it doesnt say for puppies it looks like for a wide age range of dogs and cats. Do you think that its ok to use? I have only used it once and I am only giving 2 cc as it says 1 1/2 cc for every 10lbs. |
nutra cal It is good to have on hand with little ones around the house. If your little one does not eat, gets an upset tummy, and just will not eat you will need it in case your little one starts acting funny. you will need it to prevent them from going into hypoglycemia. It can come on fast so be ready. My vet said to give it to both of mine every day that I did not think they were eating enough. It works well and you would use it instead of karo syrup. Good luck |
Yes I got one from the vet. Sometimes yorkies have low blood sugar if they don't eat right so, I remember giving Austin some when he first came to my home and so you are prepared, they hype up even more than normal..lol but it brings them back to normal. I take a dab on my finger and he licks it. It smells like syrup but it has vitamins for them. Amazing how it works. good luck! :animal36 |

While NutriCal is great to have on hand, you must be careful on the use and dosage. You can bring on a hyperglycemic attack if used improperly and over use can cause diabetis. You must make sure your 8 week old pup is eating at least 4 or 5 meals a day. Make sure clean food is down and accessible at all times. |

Nutrical dog vs nutrical puppy for a 13 week old I accidently picked up nutrical DOG, instead of the 'nutrical PUPPY'. Would 'nutrical DOG' still work for my 13 wk old puppy? oopsie, i meant to make this a new thread. |
