Yep, had to spoon feed Sophie when I first rescued her. She now eats out of her bowl. |
We have been here too!!!! Hand feeding mostly , but like someone mentioned before when we play fetch Phoebe takes kibble breaks in between lol!!!!! |
I need to make a game out of feeding time, or else she doesnt eat at all! Tilly likes us to walk around, me having her kibble in my hands, throwing it all over the house, so that she can "sniff" it out and then eat it!!! It takes ages like this but atleast she is eating her kibble now!! |
Well Edward has his days when he wont eat on his own so i know he's being fussy that day and ill just feed him his kibble by hand but i dont mind cause i feel happy that i know he ate....they are so picky these furkids of ours...lol |
Gracie ate dry food this morning that the other dog knocked on the floor! She does something every day that surprises me! Must be she heard the vet say to feed her cat food and she didnt like that idea?!! lol I think Gracie is going to be just fine.. In the four days since I resqued her she has come on very nicely! |
Glad to hear she has started eating, you must take a photo it sounds so cute! :D |

weird eater :)Don't worry you are not alone. When i got my Bella she did not want to eat i was so worried until i asked on Yorkie Talk and i got alot of good info they told me some yorkies will not eat from the bowl.they will only eat from the floor or your hand it was a long shot, but i decided to give it a try, and guess what it worked as soon as i called her and put my hand out she started eating i couldn't belive it!!! it was a miracle i also had to pretend that i was eating the food to before i gave it to her and she ate just fine. the only bad thing is that i have to do it everyday but i don't mind i love bella that much |

Gracie is doing great and yes Ive noticed that it depends on her mood what I have to do to get her to eat.. Yesterday I got another yorkie given to me and Ive noticed Gracie eats fine if she thinks he is going to eat her food. Hes a fatty and eats like it is going to run away! |
im glad ypu can get her to eat, sad how some dogs are treated before they get to a better home. I say do what works, however i dont agree with you vet on the cat food stay away from cat food unless its tiny tiny amount to hide a pill or something liek that, 1 cat food is bad for them and if you get her eating cat food that is all she want to eat, but thats just my opinion. Best of luck with your new princess |

I think maybe he wanted her to have it because of how thin she was at that time..Shes now 8 lbs and doing very well { no more cat food}but I am tryin to get her more on Dry food and less wet.. Ive emailed come dog food companys and asked for Samples..Ill find a kind she loves thats good for her one way or the other..Right now its Mighty dog. IAMs had given her an awful rash that I later found out was due to the grain. My new issue is a yorkie I got yesterday... OO hes something.. sweet as heck for hours and suddenly mean... tryin to rip someone apart for no reason... He musta been abused because he flinches and ducks when I go to pet him or brush him. I just hope he comes around half as nicely as Gracie has already! |
Have you looked at this post. I used it and got just a ton of samples and coupons. It really helped to find a kibble that Bridget would allow me to feed her..:) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html |
