My Yorkie is Sick I got my 2 month old Yorkie from Arkansas two days ago. First two days he was so energetic and does not seem to tire. This morning he ate his breakfast and at noon he had a small diarea. He has not eaten but drinks water. I am worried. Brought him to the vet and got some supplement and a Science Diet medical can food. My dog still does not eat. What should I do. |

Do you have any nutrical it is very important if he is not eating. you can buy it at most pet stores. If he won't eat you can put some on your finger and have him lick it off. It is really important to get him to eat bc he is very young and can dehydrate fast or get hypoglycemic. He has just been through leaving his mom and littermates. Make sure you give him lots of loving. If he is not eating after putting it on your finger then I would call the vet again. Sending prayers that he is ok. |

Thanks Thank you for the advise and the prayers. The vet this afternoon gave me Progut which is a oral paste nutritional supplement for intestinal mucosa. It might be the same kind of medicine which you just mentioned. I had to put it in his mouth. |

When you took him to the vet what type of tests did they do? How much does he weigh? If you look at his gums are they pink and wet? |

The Nutrical is to help them to keep their sugar levels up so they don't go hypoglycemic. If he shows any signs of wobbliness get some nutrical or Karo syrup into him. I would try coaxing him to eat. Maybe try warming his food up a little. Hopefully he will settle in soon and start eating. Please keep us posted and any questions just ask. |

Like Patti said the NutraCal is for glucose levels and Hypoglycemia which could cause him to become lethargic and wobbly. It's a quick fix to low blood sugar levels. But it is very important that he actually eats food. Was he tested for any type of intestinal parasites? |
