wellness simple solutions lamb and rice..anyone try it?? Tucker needs a limited, low protien dog food and was wondering how this one was. He is on CA grain free lamb right now but he has lost interest already. SOOOOO.. do I switch or just let him be and when he gets hungry enough he will eat??? HELP!! |

Well, I'm not sure what all Tucker's issues are . . but if he has grown tired of his food; there is no reason not to try another one. Switch gradually; as I'm sure you know. Lucy eats the Wellness limited ingredient Chicken and Rice for her dinner; she's not crazy about it . . but eats it well enough. We were looking for relatively low protein also. The kibbles are kind of big but I smash them up for her. |

Thanks for your input. Tucker has a sensitive stomach and throws up often. He cant tolerate any food high in protien. He also has allergies to certian ingredients, I know he cant have corn and Im pretty sure chicken. I know that he has other allgeries to other ingredients(causes itching, excessive eye tearing, smelly dog odor, smelly ears, excessive paw and belly licking) I just havent been able to narrow down which ones so I want to keep him on a limited diet with very little products in the food. He does very well on lamb and both white and brown rice. He wont eat a fish based diet. So that doesnt leave much. I think Im just going to keep him on the Califonia natural and add a lamb based canned food to keep his interest. He is doing well, his itching is better and his eye tearing is just about gone so I dont want to mess with a good thing. |

 I agree. If it ain't broke ~ don't fix it! |

You can also try Natural Balance, it's limited ingredients as well and lower in protein. The Wellness Simple Solutions kibble is hard as rocks.. |

Thanks so much for your reply. We have tried natural balance in the past and they didnt care much for their flavors but we only tried the venison and duck. I did request some samples of their lamb.. so we will have to see. I have also ordered a case of CA's lamb and rice canned to hopefully spice up feeding time some. :) |

I'm running out of ideas-- and there is no rhyme or reason to her vomiting, but sometimes it's once a week, sometimes once a day for a period. Maybe Wellness Simple Solutions? She also has a LOT of tearing and scratching/licking....:confused::( |
