Oh "poop"..Need advice... I just woke up yo izzy crying in her pen, which is not like her...Took her outside and she had diarrhea  I got some samples of Wellness small breed dog food ( because she was getting bored with natural balnce, VERY VERY picky ) and i mixed some in with her natural balance..She picked out ALL the Wellness and eat that ONLY. when she was done she looked at me like I was witholding a treat so I gave her alittle more (yes i know, very stupid!) So could eating the Wellness give her diarrhea? |
It could. Some dogs have a more sensitive stomach than others. Typically Jackson can eat another dog food that's he's never had before totally fine with no stomach problems, but he doesn't have an extremely sensitive stomach. I'm sure that was the cause! It should get to normal in a few days if you continually feed her the new food. :) |
For a dog that I had a while ago, if we would switch the food, she would get diarrhea, no matter how good the brand, how good the quality, or whatever. She just had a weak stomach. So it may have something to do with the dog food. For any reason, if we ever switch our dogs food, we mix them, like you said you did : ) |
You could try giving her some canned pumpkin, not the pie mix, just plain pumpkin. Works wonders with diarrhea and constipation. 1-2 teaspoons with her meal. |
Oh! So does white rice. It really helps with that stuff. |
Thanks...I did feed her Chicken and rice yesterday and that helped... today I mixed in only alittle wellness in her food and so so good.. Even on the wellness website, it says that it can cause dierrhea if not transitioned in SLOWLY..Well see how tonight goes...That night she ate a bunch...her dierrhea came on in like 3 hours...I was up with her all night every 1 hr too poop :(...Oh well she's my baby girl so didn't care. i would do it for my skin kids, so why not my furbutt ;) |
