Food Recommendations for Picky Eaters - Help!! Okay so I need help finding a "puppy" food my little picky girl will actually eat. I'm struggling with her terribly. I'm not a fan of kibble, but if anyone has good recommendations on a brand for picky puppies I'd like to hear their suggestions. I've tried and had no success with: By Nature for Puppies, Artemis Small Breed for Puppies (heard not to feed this as well), Royal Canine (not a fan due to ingredients) and Innova. Also, any recommendations for a canned "puppy" food too? I've had no success with Innova for Puppies. Raw food recommendations? Ideally, I'd love to feed my girl raw - if she will eat it. I tried Natures Variety Raw Chicken medallions the other day and she turned her nose up at it. Maybe I just need to try another brand or flavor I'm thinking… I almost went with Primal Raw and Stella and Chewy's, but the lady at the store talked me into NV. Home Cooking - Don't mind homecoming once in a while, but not something I really want to have to do consistently. Also, I've tried every veggie you could think of (cooked and frozen) and my girl hates them all! Same with fruits. Wont' touch them. She hates sweet potatoes too. I've tried steamed Boneless Chicken Breasts and she liked that for a week, but now turns her nose up at it - same with lean cooked beef, rice, you name it! The only thing she will eat cooked is a NY Sirloin Steak! And well, she can't live off steak alone and it's not something I'm fond of feeding anyways to such a small dog. So any recommendations to try for a picky stubborn little eater would be appreciated! Thanks! |

The breeders I recently purchased my puppy from fed him Caesar's Puppy food (a wet food) for picky eaters, along with a dry food(Vi-nutra). On the back label Caesar guarantees the puppy will eat, or they will refund your money. I don't know much about what the top dog foods, or how Caesar's ranks around YT, but it has been working well thus far for us. I've been mixing just a little of the Caesar's with his dry food and it never fails. |

My picky eater likes Acana. He also like the puppy version of Wellness, but likes Acana a bit better, and we've had no stomach issues since about October with it. My other pup will eat about anything (including students spelling tests while I am grading them:confused:) and she likes Acana too. We rotate between the prairie and grasslands (chicken and lamb). |
My Yorkie is on ORIJEN (grain-free) but I supplement it. If you get desperate and don't mind cooking try roasting a turkey. You can freeze portions to add to the kibble. Pixie just bounces around the house when I feed her turkey! (I've tried beef and pork and chicken. Yes, I know I shouldn't be feeding her human food!) Good luck! Mignon & Pixie |
