Yorkie Eating Cotton? Shade is the name of my 4 1/2 month old Yorkshire. I have bed covers with cotton underneath. He likes to eat that but, of course, i pull it out of his mouth when i see him chewing it. Just in case he sneaks into the cotton, should i be worried if he does eat it? |
I would call the vet just to be sure. It's not enough to warrant a vet visit unless he's not acting like himself, but a quick call can put your mind at ease. Good luck! |
This is not real all natural cotton rite ? Yes you should be worried and keep him away from it as it can and if he continues to eat it will plug him. Toy breeds can plug from synthetic cotton. If they plug , most often it has to be surgically removed as their system is too tiny to pass it through. Especially a pup. |
It's amazing to me what they all get into. All sorts of different things. Charlie loves to chew on shoes. His favorite is flip flops. He also loves Q-tips. I have no idea how he keeps finding them. Every day I find something else he gets into. When we go out, he loves to tear up magazines. No matter how much I think I've cleared them all up, he will find one. My brother has a rescue. Part Sharpei and part lab. He's an odd dog, a little over a year old now. He chew a lot. He chewed and scratched through their screen doors, and he's a little devil for wires. My brother is getting annoyed because he keeps chewing up computer wires and it's costing him a fortune. I feel lucky Charlie's not into wires. I'd be afraid he'd get electrocuted. Although I do unplug everything if we go out because I'm afraid one of these days he'll start. Our other dog chewed nothing. She also wouldn't pick up anything off the floor, even food. She was very discriminating. Charlie also loves to be moving his mouth. Lots of times I think he has something in his mouth and I jump up thinking, "What does he have now?" and it's nothing, just chewing away. He has tons of toys but he doesn't really care for them. There's one maybe that he's attached to for chewing ... wouldn't be what you'd think would be the best, basically a cheapo rubber thing in the shape of a butterfly. All the other expensive ones he leaves aside ... go figure. Sort of like when you buy a toddler a present and they like the box the best. |
