Protein in Urine Hope this is not too long - My 5 year old Yorkie male had fluid in his belly a year ago. Fluid was removed and he was put on IV's. This occurred after I got a new puppy. Vet said it was related to stress and I gave the puppy back to breader. 10 months later my son brought his puppy over and the same thing happened. 1 month later my female decided to attack my little male in the middle of the night for no reason. Evidently she dreams as this has happened before. This time my male became Hypoglycemic, had tremors and his tummy was swollen again. He could not walk, was throwing up and had diarrhea. Rushed him to the emergency room and the vet actually saved his life. His calcium level was 0.8. We have managed to get him stable and Addison's Disease has been ruled out. I am now with a new vet that is testing for kidney or intestine problems. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them and if so what was it. I refuse to let my little boy die. He only weighs 3.75 lbs. and is not able to put any weight on due to the loss of protein. If you can shed some light on this matter I would really appreciate it. The vet said to separate the two dogs and that is what I have done. They have their rooms. |
