Tick after bite spot Tick ugh hate them even more then I though possible, never had this happened before like this I mean she has had ticks on her and I have pulled them off like a good mommy and there has been maybe a little red mark but thats it. I found a pretty big tick on Callie's cheek yesterday and even after holding an alcohol swab on it (I have been told that causes them to pull there head out) for like 5 minutes and then went to pull it off and it was extremely hard to pull off. Later I was checking it to see how it was doing and there is like a spot as big as the tip of my pinky that has like a dried blood scab on it. Its not hot feeling or even red and infected looking so I just keep checking it every couple of hours. We are supposed to go to West Virginia on friday and Callie is going with me so I will still be able to watch it but I'm scared to death its going to decided to get infected while on the trip. Is there anything I can/should put on it? These ticks are really becoming a problem. |

I will put a little bit of peroxide water, if she can't reach with her tong a little bit of neosporin, or maybe a quick trip to the vet tomorrow, just to make sure, poor little baby:aimeeyork |

Yup, I pulled one off of Chloe's bottom lip the other day and it puffed up bigger than normal and had a scab on it by the next morning. I just put some neosporin on it and checked it frequently. Within about 4 or 5 days it was completely gone. As long as it isn't oozing anything or looking infected, she's probably fine. The neosporin just helps it heal faster and cuts down on the chance it will end up infected, I think. -C |
